The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (The NYSPCC) seeks an experienced, devoted professional with strong clinical and leadership skills to serve as the Assistant Director of Clinical Services. Only applicants with an LCSW, PhD or PsyD and New York State licensure will be considered.


The Assistant Director of Clinical Services position will play an essential role in supporting the agency mission of effectively responding to the complex needs of abused and neglected children, and those involved in their care.




  • Oversee, in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services, all activities of the Trauma Recovery Program, Therapeutic Visitation Program, and Crisis Debriefing Program
  • Provide clinical supervision to a dynamic team of mental health professionals
  • Provide trauma-focused services to a small caseload of low-income children and families
  • Provide crisis debriefings to child welfare professionals
  • Support the development, delivery and promotion of training curricula on topics such as sexual abuse prevention, trauma-informed care, and wellness/self-care to diverse audiences
  • Support efforts to secure funding for all programs





  • A LCSW, PhD or PsyD, and New York State licensure required
  • Extensive experience working with survivors of violence and trauma required
  • Experience in leadership, providing program oversight and staff supervision required
  • Understanding of the complex dynamics related to domestic violence, child abuse and neglect required
  • Commitment to innovative and anti-oppressive programming required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including public speaking) required
  • Familiarity implementing evidence-based practices preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred


Salary: $80K commensurate with experience.


The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, including two evenings. Excellent benefit package, including health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 403B plan with match, life insurance, and generous vacation/personal day leave.
